Withings is showing two successors to the popular hybrid watches at IFA 2023, the ScanWatch 2 and the ScanWatch Light. Both are equipped with better sensors and some other innovations. We took a look at both watches on site.

The ScanWatch 2 is the direct successor to the new watch series from Withings, the “ScanWatch”. This is also the top model, which again scores up to 30 days of battery life. This also comes with a new acceleration sensor, which should be able to automatically recognize and track up to 40 different activity types. On the other hand, the new ScanWatch Light should do without things like an ECG, but still deliver the same data quality as the top model. The new "HealthSenseOS 3" software is now used on both models, which will soon be exciting for the following new app.

ScanWatch 2 now tracks body temperature

With the ScanWatch 2, the manufacturer is not doing anything groundbreaking, but rather building on the features of the predecessor. However, the new “TempTech24/7” module is new – a somewhat unwieldy name. The novelty is sold under the "24/7 health tracking" feature. The ScanWatch 2 should now be able to recognize changes in the base body temperature during the day and night, draw attention to body temperature zones during training, track body temperature zones when awake and display the body temperature in the recovery phase after training. So it's about one thing: the body temperature - exactly tracking this is possible with the new watch.

Cycle tracking for women is also new, which with the ScanWatch 2 no longer only works via the app, but directly on the watch. Complaints and symptoms can also be selected and tracked directly on the watch. The ScanWatch 2 starts at 349,95 euros.

ScanWatch Light: Can do a little more, but a little less than its predecessor

The ScanWatch Light has it in the current positioning Proproduct portfolio is not easy. On the one hand, the slimmed-down version of the ScanWatch 2, which, however, cannot do some things that the previous model, which is now just as expensive, can do. But to the facts. The light version starts at a price of 249,95 euros. Users have to do without an altimeter, body temperature measurement, ECG tracking and measurement of blood oxygen content. Also, "only" a gorilla glass is used on the surface instead of a sapphire glass. The new feature, cycle tracking directly on the watch, is also available with the Withings ScanWatch Light. If you want to know more differences, you can do this directly on the Withings website to compare.

Both models will be available from selected dealers and retailers from October 2023 online at Withings Available in black, white and sand colors. The watches have a Grayscale OLED display and are optionally available with colored bracelets.

I miss the gold version.
Not everyone likes rose gold and silver.

Good day,

Unfortunately, the bracelets on the Withing Scan watches are much too short. I asked Withing about this several times and received no meaningful answer.
Thank you.
Kind regards

So if the arms are particularly thick then this can certainly happen, although other watches are the same Proshould have problems. In addition, common bracelets can be attached, which makes them... Proproblems should be solved safely.
