Xiaomi should no longer be a stranger to us in the European market, they are even known for having many different ones Proto cover product categories. The group is now launching a Windows device on the German market for the first time, a 2-in-1 device between notebook and tablet, the Xiaomi Book S.

The Xiaomi Book S comes in the form of a classic tablet. Framed in a dark gray aluminum housing, the LC touch display with a diagonal of 12,4 inches is located on the front. It weighs 720 grams. It comes in a 16 by 10 format and has a resolution of 2.560 x 1.600 pixels, giving it a ppi of 244. The refresh rate is 60 Hertz. The display also supports multi-touch with a maximum of 10 points, a brightness of up to 500 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Typical tablet functions, such as a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, are also available. The speakers are located on either side of the device alongside a single USB-C and 3,5mm jack port. In addition to a keyboard with a trackpad and backlight, the Xiaomi Book S also comes with a Xiaomi smart pen as a separately available accessory to enable pen input via the touchscreen. It has a sampling rate of 240 Hertz and 4096 pressure levels to enable a more precise writing experience.

Xiaomi Book S: internal specifications
Inside the Xiaomi Book S is a seven-nanometer chipset from Qualcomm designed for notebooks, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2. As mentioned above, it is based on the ARM architecture, like the new ones Apple MProcessors and should therefore offer high efficiency on paper, with the adjustment of the "Windows 11 on ARM" Operating system on this is not yet as mature as Apple's macOS. The present model is an octa-core with four powerful cores with a clock frequency of up to 3,15 Gz. There are also four efficiency-oriented cores with up to 1,8 GHz.
The battery of the Xiaomi Book S has a capacity of 38 watt hours. According to the manufacturer, it should last up to 13 hours and 24 minutes when watching videos without an Internet connection. The internal memory of standard eight gigabytes of LPDDR4X work and 256 gigabytes of mass storage can be expanded via a microSD card. Up to 512 gigabytes are possible. In terms of connectivity, the 2-in-1 device also supports WLAN ac and Bluetooth 5.1.
