With the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the Chinese company is bringing its most powerful and most expensive smartphone to the global market to date. All the details and technical specifications in this article.

Much has been speculated about the Mi 11 Ultra. The rest of the series, like that Xiaomi Mi 11 we already know. Then a few weeks ago a first appeared Hands-on video with the device. Now it has been officially presented.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: the real flagship

Like the normal Mi 11, the Ultra comes on the market with the latest Snapdragon 888, but only in a version with 12 gigabytes of RAM (LPDDR5) and 256 gigabytes of fast UFS 3.1 storage. The Mi 11 Ultra should be cooled better than the normal Mi 11. On the front, the Mi 11 Ultra has a 6,81 inch AMOLED display, which is slightly curved. This resolves with WQHD + and supports 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate (i.e. changes between 30/60/90 or 120 Hz, depending on how much is needed). The Mi 11 Ultra also has a 10-bit display and can therefore display a total of over a billion colors.

The device is protected on the front and back with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The device is protected against dust and water according to the IP68 standard. The display is DisplayMate A +, Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ certified, the stereo speakers were again built with Harman Kardon. A software feature enables the Mi 11 Ultra to be used as a microphone via Bluetooth if the speaker supports this.

But what makes the Mi 11 Ultra unique is the back of the device. In addition to three cameras, there is also a second display on the back. This 1,1 ″ AMOLED display has a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels and is intended for several areas of application. On the one hand it serves as with Samsung galaxy z flip as "Always On Display" and can show incoming notifications. But it is also used for selfie recordings with the good cameras on the back and can be used as the main display in "super power saving mode". At 234g, the device is a few grams heavier than that Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Cameras

The cameras are probably the biggest highlight of the device. A 50 MP camera from Samsung is used as the main sensor (the sensor is f / 1.12 in size), which should shine with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus. A 48 MP sensor is used as the ultra-wide-angle camera, which captures a lot of images at 128 degrees. The camera can also take macro pictures. A 48 MP sensor is also used as a telephoto camera, which can zoom on objects up to 5x optical, 10x hybrid and 120x digital. With the Mi 11 Ultra, too, the focus is again on the video function, Xiaomi advertises with "Director's Cut". All three cameras can record videos in 8K and multiple devices can be connected via software. So if you want to record from different perspectives, you can pair the devices.

The battery is 5.000 mAh in size and is charged immediately, regardless of whether it is wired or wireless. The device can be charged either with 67W by cable or with 67W via a wireless charger. As a result, the device should be able to be charged from 0 to 100 in just 36 minutes. The device supports reverse charging up to 10W.

The Mi 11 Ultra will soon be available in the colors "ceramic white" and "ceramic black" for an RRP of 1.199 euros (global price, the price for Germany will follow).
