It quarreled. For a long time it was called Amazon vs. Google - both removed each other's apps from the respective platforms. The dispute is now resolved and the apps are returning. So there is YouTube for Fire TV (Stick) and Prime Video for Chromecast again.

Reconciliation is nice. Because of this, both corporations have in a joint press release announced that they want to go a good way again. In the coming months, one would like to offer each other's apps on the platform again. The official YouTube app is coming back on Amazon Fire TV devices and "Fire TV Edition Smart TVs". In addition, the Prime Video app for streaming on Chromecast and devices with Android TV is returning as software.

YouTube for Fire TV: high quality streaming

In the YouTube app you should be able to log in with your account and stream videos in 4K HDR and 60fps. Not only YouTube should return, the apps YouTube TV and YouTube Kids should also come to Amazon devices this year. Currently, Amazon users have to use the integrated browser to view YouTube videos. But it is certainly not the most comfortable solution.

It is very positive to see that tech giants can reconcile again. Just this week, Apple settled the dispute with Qualcomm.
