Bose Frames (Alto): First impression of the audio sunglasses
The Bose Frames are the first audio sunglasses on the market. So of course I was curious what it could do and bought it. And that's my first impression.

Unboxing
Bose offers the frames in two variants, whereby I bought the variant called "Alto". The second version is called “Rondo” and is intended for people with a smaller head - not for my stubborn head. In both cases, the glasses come in a stylish gray box on which there is only a sticker with the model name and a photo of the sunglasses. To get inside the packaging, remove the two flaps on the sides and carefully lift the lid. Then at the very top is a high-quality leather case with a Bose logo in which the frames are located. Bose also packed a charging cable, a few pieces of paper and a quick start guide for the Bose frames.
initial setup
The "Bose Connect" app, which can be downloaded from the Play Store and the App Store, is available for initial setup. At the beginning you will be asked to agree to the terms of use. In the next step, another dialog appears that asks you to activate Bluetooth and location. On the sunglasses you press the button on the side for a short time, then the frames will be found. I was able to start listening to music after just two minutes.
Alternatively, there is also the option of adding the Bose frames via the Bluetooth settings.
My impression of the Bose frames
Right at the beginning I noticed that the frames don't look that different from ordinary sunglasses at first glance. If you then look to the side, you can see that the temples are a little thicker (that is also within limits). In each of the two brackets there is a loudspeaker that transports the music to the ears. In quiet surroundings, it sounds like you have in-ears in your ears. Nevertheless, you can still hear everything that is going on around you. In noisy environments, however, you cannot avoid increasing the volume.
I also wondered if the people around me would hear what I'm hearing since the sunglasses don't direct the music directly into my ear canal. Here I was able to experience that at 50 Procent volume for other people only a small hum is perceptible. From 50 ProIt may then be the case that others hear what music you are enjoying at the moment.
I don't want to say anything about the battery life at the moment, because I want to test it more extensively. However, I can already report something about charging. This happens magnetically via connectors within two hours. I would have found it much better if they were loaded directly into the case. That can come with a second generation.
I will now properly test the Bose Frames and will be back with a test report shortly.
