The three different car mounts
The three brackets from iOttie are named as follows:
- iTapMagnetic 2
- Easy One Touch Wireless 2
- one touch 4
iOttie iTap Magnetic 2: Flexibly adaptable with magnet
iOttie offers the iTap Magnetic 2 for people who want it spontaneous and flexible. This is kept compact, but still robust and therefore versatile. Included with this model are the iTap Magnetic 2 itself and a magnetic disk that attaches to the smartphone and holds it on the holder. If the dashboard is round and there are difficulties with the installation, an enclosed bendable plastic disc with adhesive surface can help. The head with integrated magnet on the holder can be rotated so that you can choose the position for the smartphone individually. If the smartphone is attached to the iTap Magnetic 2, it won't fall out even when driving on bumpy roads.
iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless 2: Contactless charging on the go
If you want it to be familiar, you can use the iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless 2. The bracket is to be attached to the inside of the windscreen or to the dashboard. You simply insert your smartphone into the car holder and slide the two sides together. If you want to remove it, you open the two gripping arms again by operating the lever on the side. With the included car power supply unit, it is even possible to supply your smartphone with power without contact. Unfortunately, only a micro USB connector is used for this. Because all cell phones come with Lightning or USB-C these days, the cable can only be used with the iOttie holder. USB-C or even Lightning would be welcome here. In addition, iPhone users are only supplied with a maximum of 7,5 watts of power. However, this is due to iOS. Android devices can charge a little faster.
iOttie One Touch 4
Typically, this Product is kept plain and simple. It comes with no frills and simply serves as a holder for the smartphone. Again, there are various options for mounting in the car and the viewing angle of the device can be adjusted variably.
Conclusion: This ProI liked products best
After testing the iTap Magnetic 2, the Easy One Touch Wireless 2 and the One Touch 4, I identified two personal winners for myself. The iOttie iTap Magnetic 2 will be more than enough for those who like it compact and never drive that long. You can attach and detach your phone quickly and easily. For longer distances, however, Easy One Touch Wireless 2 is clearly better. In this situation, the integrated wireless charging station is clearly worth its weight in gold. Only an option with USB-C would be desirable in the future.
