The JLab JBuds Mini from JLab are real giants in the field of wireless earphones. With a price of just 39,99 euros, they set new standards in terms of compactness, performance and user-friendliness.

In this review, we take a detailed look at the various aspects of these in-ears that make them a superior choice for budget-conscious buyers.

tl;dr: Small in-ears with a big sound

Overall, the JLab JBuds Mini impress with their compact size, robust construction and individual adjustment options. Despite minor weaknesses in codec support and charging case sensitivity, they are an outstanding choice for budget-conscious buyers. Price and performance come together to form a truly impressive overall package.

Design and fit

The JBuds Mini are available in black, aqua teal, pink, mint green or sage gray and are the smallest wireless earphones review. Despite their compact size, they offer an impressive fit that also accommodates people with smaller ears. Included in delivery are three pairs of silicone earplugs for an optimal seal.

Technical details

The 6mm drivers inside the JBuds Mini deliver a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. With Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, they enable Google Fast Pair and Multipoint Pairing. Although Bluetooth codec support still has room for improvement (only SBC is supported), the JBuds Mini make up for it with other features, like capacitive touch controls and unique customizability via the app.

Robust & long battery life

Thanks to the IP55 protection class, the JBuds Mini are protected from dust and can withstand moderate water splashes prosurvive without any problems. This makes them ideal for use during sports or in changing weather conditions. However, it should be noted that they should not be submerged under water.

The JBuds Mini's compact charging case is small, but presents a small challenge in the form of a smooth surface that can lead to accidental falls when opened. Battery life is approximately 5,5 hours pro charge, with the case providing an additional 14,5 hours. A quick 15-minute charge provides about an hour of music playback.

JLab Buds Mini app experience

The accompanying JLab app significantly expands the functionality of the JBuds Mini. It offers an impressive range of customization options, including an equalizer with preset modes and a customizable mode. The app also allows convenient control of the transparency mode and touch controls. A useful addition to the JBuds Mini's already impressive features.
