The Motorola Edge 20 Lite, Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro were on 27.8 via press release vorgestellt, TechnikNews could have the devices in the first hands-on.

Motorola Edge 20 Lite

The Edge 20 Lite is the cheapest model in the series with an RRP of 399 euros and feels valuable when the back is made of plastic. This is clearly noticeable and it is not such a high-quality plastic as in an S21 or similar. Despite this, the workmanship is successful and the buttons can be easily pressed in. The edges of the display are clearly visible and the punch hole, which is in the middle of the device, stands out more than on the other devices in the series. With 5000 mAh, the battery is the largest in the series, so the device is correspondingly heavy in the hand. The device can be connected to a Windows laptop using a QR code (and corresponding software), which enables "desktop mode".

Motorola Edge 20/Pro

The Motorola Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro are pretty much the same and differ only in a few points. Both have a 144Hz display, which convinces in the first hands-on. The display bezels are a lot smaller than on the Lite and that's not Pro“ is also very thin and light. Internally, both differ only by the Processor, at Pro the Snapdragon 778 is used instead of a Snapdragon 870G. While the Lite has a headphone jack and an SD card slot, the two better devices don't. But they both have a glass back and a telephoto lens. The Edge 20 can zoom a maximum of 3x without loss, the Edge 20 Pro maximum 5x. All Edge 20 series devices run Android 11 and will get two OS upgrades.

Motorola also gave us a demo of the Ready For Platform. Through this, the Edge 20 and Pro-Model a "desktop-like interface" to be ported to a screen. The device can still be used normally, or as a remote control to control the surface. In addition to the desktop mode, there is also a launcher for games (which can also be controlled with a controller) or a launcher for TV and films. The Edge 20 supports these modes Prozessor conditionally only wireless, that Pro also via USB-C cable. From the Edge 20 and Pro We already have test devices available for the model, a test report will be published for both in the near future.
