Nomad Rugged Case review: is the MagSafe standard any good?

When Apple introduced the iPhone 12 series, Nomad initially only launched cases without MagSafe. That should have left the MagSafe proponents speechless. But that changed a few months ago and I tested the Nomad Rugged Case with MagSage for you in everyday life.
If you are not a fan of Apple's accessories portfolio, you will have noticed the Californian accessories manufacturer Nomad. This company makes a wide range of Apple cases and other accessories for the same price as Apple.

The scope of delivery: Environmentally friendly and minimalist
Anyone who expects Nomad to bring the rugged case to the customer with a lot of bells and whistles is wrong. Only the Nomad Rugged Case itself is put into the packaging. The inside of the box is made of biodegradable material.
Hands-on and first impression
If you take the case and the iPhone in your hand, you immediately feel that quality is imminent Product stuck. The case feels fine and of high quality.
On the back, where Nomad has now also implemented a MagSafe field, we have the advertised vegetable-tanned Horween leather. This leather gives you an extremely high quality feeling when you have the iPhone in your hand. However, before buying the case, you should be aware that it is natural leather and not artificial and that sooner or later signs of wear will be visible.

The leather back gives the smartphone significantly more grip compared to using it without a case. Even taking it out of your trouser pocket feels much safer in everyday life and worries that you could destroy your expensive iPhone in the event of a fall are a thing of the past.
Finally with MagSafe support
At the beginning I was a great friend of it when the new MagSafe standard was introduced, because I saw the many future possibilities that the magnetic ring enables. Since Nomad finally launched its cases with MagSafe, I was really pleased because I didn't want to have to rely on the marginal selection at Apple.
Because MagSafe works via a magnet, over time you have to expect that the back of the case will naturally discolour. That doesn't really bother me because I was aware that this would be the case sooner or later thanks to the natural leather.
High quality workmanship, but minimal defects
Basically, there are no defects in the workmanship, which could prevent you from enjoying the rugged case. Polycarbonate was chosen for the case because it is stable and robust in the hand. The transition between the leather back and the sides is minimally annoying, because in my case it doesn't go seamlessly and you can feel a gentle scratching on the fingertips (but it could also be due to my copy).
Soft microfiber protective lining has been processed inside the case so that the iPhone does not have to suffer scratches on the back. If the iPhone and the Nomad Rugged Case should fall, it will be intercepted by the shock absorbers built into the inside of the case and the outer TPU shock absorbers.
Four weeks of use
I've been using the Nomad Rugged Case for over a month now and I'm very satisfied. I was aware of the change in the appearance of the leather back from the time I started using it. Nevertheless, the color “natural” gives me a high-quality and, above all, beautiful feeling.

My conclusion after a month
Since I was already using the Nomad Rugged Case in the version without MagSafe, I was all the more pleased to be able to enjoy using it with MagSafe. The case gives the iPhone more grip in the hand in everyday life and in the event of a fall you don't have to worry about the device either. The wear and tear on the back were none for me Problem since it is a natural Product acts.
I recommend this case to exactly those who value the price and who like the natural wear and tear of Horween leather.
