Nomad Sport Case review: The iPhone case with NFC tag
Nomad is now one of the best-known accessories manufacturers in the USA when it comes to Apple accessories. We tested the Nomad Sport Case in navy blue for you.
The range of cases has now become so diverse that it has become unmanageable. But Nomad not only pays attention to sustainability and the environment, but also has innovative partnerships with third parties - in this case with the company Popl.

The scope of delivery – nothing but minimalistic
The Nomad Sport Case for the iPhone 13/Pro comes in an environmentally friendly packaging. Only the sports case is included and no other content is included. The operating instructions can be obtained via QR code on the back of the packaging.
The eye-catcher of the Nomad Sport Case is the back. This consists of a high-gloss PET back plate. The frame is made of soft polycarbonate. So that the iPhone is not scratched by dust, Nomad uses microfiber inside the case. This not only protects against scratches, it also cushions falls.
So that the sports case also protects the display from breakage, the frame protrudes 1,0 mm over the display.
MagSafe works perfectly
A special feature that is useful in everyday life is MagSafe. Not all cases come with MagSafe. Inside the Nomad Sport Case, there is a MagSafe ring built in, this ring consists of nickel-plated neodymium magnets, which stably hold the charging puck between 800 and 110gf magnetic force. A special charging puck also enables 15 watt fast charging. Without this feature, a maximum of 7,5 watts would be possible.
In everyday use, I haven't found any differences in magnet weaknesses, resulting in an ideal MagSafe experience.
No signs of use
After more than 6 months of daily use of the Nomad Sport Case I could not find any excessive wear and tear. The case lies extremely well in the hand and feels very high quality. Only the high-gloss back is not spared from fingerprints and smudges, but it is super easy to clean. I couldn't see any micro-scratches on the case, because of course I treated the iPhone with care.
The Nomad Sport Case is available in black, moon grey, ash green, dune and navy blue.
cooperation with Popl
Since the smartphone in the trouser pocket is a matter of course today and the iPhone is faster than any business card for exchanging personal contacts, Nomad and Popl entered into a really intuitive cooperation. An NFC chip has been implemented on the inside of the Nomad Sport Case, which can provide quick and easy access to individual contact details. All you need to do is download the Popl app from the App Store and create an account in which you can store various contact information.
To pass on the contact details to friends, family or customers, all you have to do is hold both smartphones together. The other party then receives a notification and can save the contact directly in the contacts. This saves a lot of time and is super practical when things need to be done quickly.
For a price of around 40 euros, I highly recommend the Nomad Sport Case. It is an eye-catcher, is of high quality, protects against carelessness and offers a simple exchange of contacts, thanks to the cooperation with Popl.
