OnePlus 8T review: unboxing and first impression

Almost two months ago, the Chinese manufacturer officially presented the new OnePlus 8T and now we have also received a test device. For a price of 599 euros, it offers warp charge with up to 65 watts, a 120 Hertz refresh rate and much more.
Whether the OnePlus 8T is worth it and what trade-offs are made compared to the slightly more expensive one OnePlus 8 Pro I will clarify in a few weeks in my detailed test report. In this article I first unpack the smartphone and report on my first impressions after a few days of use.
OnePlus 8T: unboxing
OnePlus has been known for its large, high quality packaging for a long time and it's no different here either. Once you have removed the cover, you will first come across a box containing the usual paper stuff, stickers and a SIM needle for the dual SIM slot. Below is the smartphone, which is still in a film for protection. If you lift the OnePlus 8T out of the box, a transparent silicone cover comes towards you to protect the device. The highlight, however, is definitely the power supply unit and the corresponding USB-C cable, with which the smartphone can be quickly charged with up to 65 watts. Headphones are not included.

OnePlus 8T in the first impression
The OnePlus 8T made a very good first impression on me after just a few days of use. One reason for this is the beautiful design with the extremely thin display edges and the green color, which always looks a little different depending on the light. Added to this are the high-quality materials made of glass and aluminum, which make the smartphone feel extremely high-quality. This also means that it fits very well in the hand and, thanks to its relatively compact size, is still quite easy to use with one hand. In this respect, I actually like it much better than my OnePlus 8 Pro.
So far, I've also been extremely impressed with the display and the performance. The combination of the smooth refresh rate of 120 Hertz and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 ensure that the OnePlus 8T never reaches its limits. Apps start and close extremely quickly and there are virtually no stuttering. In short: the box is running. I'll have to take a closer look at the camera, battery life and speakers over the next few days.
Of course there are also a few things that bother me a little. On the one hand, I lack wireless charging, which one could have expected for 599 euros, and on the other hand, I miss a telelens and an IP-68 certification against the ingress of water and dust. At least one of them I would have liked for the price.
I will take a closer look at the OnePlus 8T in the next few days, compare it with other smartphones and then a detailed review will follow here very soon TechnikNews.
