Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: Design & workmanship
When it comes to design, Apple is and will remain the role model. The Samsung Galaxy S6 looks very similar to the iPhone 6, but shines with its own creative implementations. Like the iPhone, the Galaxy has a round aluminum frame that gently frames the case - but unlike the competitor, it is slightly sanded in height.
As with the iPhone, the speaker holes are at the bottom - almost in the same place - and are therefore reminiscent of the Apple design. The included headphones, which Samsung includes, also look heavily copied. On the side and front, the two smartphone giants look very similar. The home button has minimal differences.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: performance
Here you shouldn't be fooled by facts and figures. The strength of the iPhone is practically hidden here. At first glance, the working memory and CPU clock as well as the size of the iPhone 6 are frighteningly small, but an Android operating system must first be born that can keep up with the actual performance of the iPhone. As a result, the Samsung beats the iPhone on the data sheet - and that is deceptive because the iPhone has perfected the hardware / software optimization. However, benchmarks show that Samsung is ahead.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6: Display
The display of the Galaxy S6 has an extremely high resolution and should achieve a luminosity of up to 575 cd / m² in direct sunlight. This means that the screen can be read even better in direct sunlight. Some bright color accents give the Samsung an extra point. Samsung's TouchWiz has also become lighter. The support of Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 2.0 makes memory access much faster and more user-friendly.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: battery
Samsung can still improve this. The battery life has shrunk overall. One small consolation is that the battery life is still higher than that of the iPhone. Samsung is doing without replaceable batteries, but is catching on: There is now also a 64 and a 128 GB variant - like the iPhone. Plus point for the S6: The battery can be charged wirelessly and the charging time is very short.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: camera
In terms of camera resolution, the Samsung stands out with an outstanding 16 MP on the rear camera. Here the iPhone 6 can only have 8 MP. The bezel of the Samsung S6 is equipped with an f / 1.9 aperture. This means that good photos can be taken in simple lighting conditions without the image quality suffering. The front camera of the S6 also has an f / 1.9 aperture and has a resolution of 5 MP. Apple is satisfied with 1,2 MP.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: special features
In the past, Samsung has received a lot of criticism from the fingerprint scanner. Until recently, it was not possible to remove the display with a single swipe. Samsung has made improvements and based itself on the iPhone. The iPhone cannot be fooled when it comes to advanced technical innovations.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: Prices & Price Development
It surely does not surprise anyone that things are not done by halves when it comes to price either. Like the iPhone 6, the Galaxy S6 also enters the race with a hefty € 699 (32GB). Samsung cannot be fooled when it comes to price.
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6: Conclusion
Samsung is catching up. It would be naive to claim that Samsung will ever blow Apple's sales figures, but: When it comes to customer satisfaction, Samsung always rises in the rankings. It cannot be denied that Samsung is still orienting itself towards the advanced features of Apple, although Samsung no longer needs it. Apple lovers will probably never renounce their love. Ultimately, it is the taste that decides.
