In addition to the IE 300 and IE 900, there is now another one Proproduct from Sennheiser, which offers premium audio on the go. We're talking about the Sennheiser IE 600. I was able to figure this outprobeer

Listening to music on the go has become indispensable for many. Most people get by with the sound quality of Bluetooth headphones, which is usually sufficient anyway Sennheiser itself, Libratone and Co show. However, these are nowhere near as good as the sound of a home system or high-end headphones with a cable. And that's exactly what some still want.

Here they come new IE 600 in the game. This is now the third model I tested from the IE series, which stands for premium sound quality. It is underlined by the extraordinary design. Let's take a closer look at the whole thing.

Unboxing

The packaging of the Sennheiser IE 600 looks pretty much the same as that of the IE 900 out. That means it's quite large and made out of cardboard. It shows a picture of Products, the ProProduct names, logos and some small inscriptions and was kept in black and gray.

The contents of the packaging are accordingly very extensive. The first thing you will be greeted with is a thank you card and a confirmation of quality. The in-ears can be found underneath and all the accessories are stowed in the bottom compartment. This includes three attachments each made of silicone and memory foam, a case for storage, two different cables for connecting to a playback device, a clip for attaching the cable and a cleaning tool.

Design and workmanship

The Sennheiser IE 600 share the basic look and feel with other models in the series. There are again two different cables with MMCX connectors at the end, to which the two earplugs are connected.

For this ProHowever, Sennheiser used a new material for the product, namely ZR01 zirconium. This is a special alloy that is even more stable than the materials previously used. In fact, part of NASA's Mars rover is made out of this very material. It is accordingly robust in everyday life, signs of wear and tear should not appear so quickly. I definitely couldn't find any after my test phase. In my eyes, the zirconium feels a bit softer than metal and visually it looks a bit like the case is covered with a layer of glass.

There is also nothing wrong with the wearing comfort, which is primarily due to the large number of attachments. But the compact design of the in-ears definitely contributes to this. In addition, the brackets can be flexibly bent for a good hold in the ear.

Then you can still see some small details on the case. There is a manufacturer's logo on the outside and a slit for air circulation just below it. And on the inside left is the name of the Proproduct to see.

Klang

When developing the sound, Sennheiser focused in particular on the neutral sound of studio monitors. The TrueResponse converter with a size of seven millimeters ensures a wide frequency range, which results in playback with less distortion. In addition, a D2CA two-chamber absorber has been integrated, which is responsible for ensuring that more details reach the ear. He does this by preventing two similar tones in a recording that could overlap.

As is well known, I was already convinced by the sound of the other two IE headphones and the IE 600 can even surpass that. Let's take a listen for that Writing's On The Wall by Sam Smith inside. Here the start is already very overwhelming, followed by the verse with the piano and occasionally a violin in the background, which is very detailed and engaging. And then the chorus sounds like Sam Smith is standing right next to you. It continues with the ESC song from Austria, Halo by LUM!X and PIA MARIA. The vocals are also unbeatable on this song, and the Austrian DJ's mix in the chorus comes out better than with other in-ears. Finally, a word about EDM songs in general. Actually, I had the first impression that they didn't sound so good with the IE 600. For some reason, however, I was deceived, which is why I hereby revise this statement.

You just can't get more sound out of in-ear headphones. Sennheiser is thus addressing all audiophiles, the rest will still get along well with Bluetooth headphones.

Prices and availability

The Sennheiser IE 600 are not yet available, but they will soon be available from Sennheiser and Amazon. The RRP will then be 699 euros.

Sennheiser IE 600: Conclusion

The Sennheiser IE 600 once again cover a niche area. They appeal to people who want to enjoy absolute premium sound on the go. An additional advantage is the robust and stable design. You also get a large amount of accessories, including the large selection of silicone and memory foam attachments. Ultimately, the IE 600 leaves nothing to be desired.

However, unless you're part of Team Top-of-the-line Audio, you should still stick with ordinary Bluetooth in-ears. These are a lot cheaper, offer more freedom of movement and often still have good sound quality.

Thank you for providing the Sennheiser IE 600!
