The Chinese manufacturer Vivo started with the last year X51 5G endlich Europe through. It was certainly convincing in our test, but the recommended retail price of 799 euros was clearly too high for what was on offer. Now the successor, the Vivo X60 Pro 5G, on the market and should bring some improvements.

So there is finally a high-end under the hood Proprocessor, the display supports 120 Hertz and the camera is said to have improved Vivo. The recommended retail price of 799 euros seems a bit too high, but compared to its predecessor, the price of the X60 Pro more likely to be justified. In a few weeks you will find out how it fares in everyday life and whether it can keep up with other smartphones in this price range in my detailed test report. Now I pack the X60 Pro first and then report on my first impressions after a few days of use.

Vivo X60 Pro 5G: unboxing

From the outside, the box looks quite valuable and large when attacking. On the front is the one Proproduct name and the ZEISS logo on the other, because Vivo worked together with ZEISS on the camera in order to be able to deliver even better results. Once you have removed the lid, the first thing you see is the smartphone, which is still in a film to protect it from scratches. There's even another slide attached that reads a conversation between Vivo and SCHOTT, who make the glass. Next to the X60 Pro The scope of delivery also includes a 33 watt power supply, a cable from USB-C to USB-A, headphones and various attachments, an adapter from jack to USB-C and the usual paperwork. A case is also included and the glass on the front is protected by a pre-installed protective film.

Vivo X60 Pro 5G in the first impression

Even if there are a few things that I have noticed negatively in everyday life so far, such as the vibration motor, the speaker or the lack of wireless charging, the Vivo X60 left behind Pro 5G made a very positive first impression after a few days of use. Starting with the design, which has been consistently continued compared to its predecessor. The frame is made of metal and is quite resistant to fingerprints due to the matte surface. In addition, it feels very high-quality and is perfectly rounded, which means that there is no sharp-edged feeling in the hand. The matte back is made of glass and looks the color I tested Midnight Black very chic. Added to this is the relatively light weight of 179 grams and the thickness of only 7,6 mm. The combination of these numbers, the matt glass back and the matt metal frame ensures an extremely high quality and comfortable feeling in the hand. Vivo is at the forefront here and does not have to hide from competitors.

Next, let's look at the front page. A large 6,56 inch OLED panel is used here, which is only interrupted by a centrally located punch hole and supports a fluid refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The bezels around the screen are pleasantly thin, as I would expect for the price offered. With Full HD +, the display has a slightly lower resolution than some of the other competitors, but it is okay. So far, the display has made a very good first impression: colors, brightness and viewing angle stability can really be seen so far.

One of my biggest criticisms of the Vivo X51 5G was the built-in Snapdragon 765G Prozessor, which had absolutely no place at the suggested retail price of 799 euros. It definitely wasn't a bad one Prozessor, but for the price one could have expected a lot more. It now appears that Vivo has taken this criticism to heart, because with the X60 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which is currently one of the strongest smartphoneProbelongs to cessors. This is exactly what you notice in everyday life. I really like the performance so far and it is definitely appropriate for the price. Thanks to the smooth refresh rate of 120 Hertz, animations run even more smoothly.

I have also taken a few pictures with the camera in the last few days, which were definitely convincing. What is particularly noticeable is the visibly improved color rendering compared to its predecessor. The night mode sometimes delivers impressive results, but often fails a bit. Vivo could possibly improve this a little with future software updates. The 2-fold telephoto lens delivers very good photos, but I'm still disappointed because the X51 still had a 5-fold optical zoom. For me absolutely incomprehensible and a clear step backwards.

So far, these have been my first impressions of the new Vivo X60 Pro 5G In my detailed test report in a few weeks, we will take a much closer look at the smartphone and compare it with other devices.
