My family (wife, me, 4 kids) refuse to spend hundreds on phones, we usually pay about 100 on one. My oldest daughter and myself have a umidigi a11 (ok I have the pro max version at 125 since I have some game urges) , others have the oukitel c21 or similar.
My wife dropped her phone plus a child in a river in Austria, so naturally we saved the child and got her a new Doogee 😜
All you say is true, these budget phones can never compare to the flagships. But the temporarily loaner phone we got (Samsung Galaxy A10) was a complete disaster, it was slow, no storage, low ram.
I always go for higher Android version as step 1, then storage, then ram. Others as a good camera are a bonus – et Voila, the Doogee N50 is the best in our family. It does what is needed and more, who cares about viewing angles, pictures are super sharp, no bs, and if if you break it – so what? Great phone !!
FYI I bought it at Banggood for €95,94 one month ago 😉
