120Hz

As in the previous year, OnePlus has given its top model a QHD+ 120 Hz OLED display. This means that the display of the OnePlus 9 Pro Can update 120 times per second. Thus, interacting with the device feels more responsive and intuitive. OnePlus calls this "Fluid Display 2.0".

LTPO

What is new is that this year it will be an LTPO display. This was on the official Twitter account of OnePlus boss Pete Lau now confirmed. We have this technology first in the Samsung Galaxy Note Ultra 20 seen and now it is also finding its way into the OnePlus 9 Pro. Thanks to the LTPO display technology, the display can be clocked down to 1 Hz. So far, no smartphone can do that. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, for example, goes down to 10 Hz and the recently introduced Oppo Find X3 Pro down to 5 Hz. This would make OnePlus the first manufacturer to manage to throttle the display of its flagship down to 1 Hz. For better battery life.

10 bits

The display of the Oppo find x3 Pro supports a color rendering of 10 bit. Now it should also be the case with the OnePlus 9 Pro come into use. While no native 10 bits were used last year, only 8 bits + FRC (Frame Rate Control), this year it should finally be ready. Unlike an 8-bit display, which can “only” show 16 million colors, 10-bit even has 1,07 billion. Whether you can really notice this difference in everyday life is a test of the OnePlus 9 Pro demonstrate.
