iPadOS 14 presented: new app designs, Apple Pencil features and more
Last year Apple showed iPadOS 13, giving the tablet its “own” operating system. Now there is a new version. What does this entail?
Some apps on the iPad have a newer, more modern design. These include, for example, the music app and the files app. The sidebar in particular now looks a lot more minimalistic in these two apps. There are also innovations for the iPad home screen. The widgets of iOS 14 also find their way here.

Siri & calls
Siri has got a new and more compact design for iOS 14. Apple has also transferred this to the iPad. The same applies to incoming calls. These are now displayed as a compact pop-up.
Apple Pencil
The Apple Pencil is especially for the iPad Pro practically. Apple has given this some new features. You can now write in a text field and the input will be automatically converted to text. Apple calls this Scribble. Shapes can now be easily created in apps like Notes – just hold down the pen and the drawing will be corrected. It is also practical that what has been written can now also be copied as text.
Search
There is now a new search that can also search documents on your iPad. This works, for example, with documents from “Documents”, “Keynotes”, Mail and many more. Contacts and web searches can also be started directly, simply write or type with the pen.
