Samsung announced at MWC 2026 that its next Galaxy Watch will use the new Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC. This was announced by a senior Samsung employee during a Qualcomm press conference.

3nm and fast charging

The new platform, presumably used in Samsung's next Galaxy Watch Ultra, is built using a 3nm process and brings not only massive performance increases but also significant leaps in charging speed. Qualcomm claims a full 50% charge in just 10 minutes. For more information about the processor, you can read our overview article here.

Launch likely in summer

This isn't the first time Samsung or other manufacturers have announced early on their intention to use a new platform in future devices. Many smartphone manufacturers do this with their new high-end smartphone chips, such as the Snapdragon 8 chips.

Samsung's smartwatches have always been released alongside the new Galaxy Z Fold generation in recent years, which is traditionally unveiled in July/August. Unless something significantly changes, we'll know more by then.
