It has long been known that Android Q will get its own dark mode. Now there are new details on this.

Android Q will most likely be at Google in May 2019 I / O 2019 in Mountain View presented. Because an early build of the operating system is already in circulation, you know that the upcoming version of Android will have its own dark mode. So far, however, it was only known that this was used in the settings, the notification center and a few other areas.

Dark mode also for first party apps

According to the XDA Developers Google is now working on equipping all first-party apps with a dark mode. While YouTube and the Messenger app already have a dark theme, there are still large white areas in Google Drive, Gmail and some other apps. In addition, Google is already asking developers of third-party apps to implement a dark mode.
