Apple AirPods Pro 2 introduced: More features and better ANC

Tonight, Apple introduced, among other things, the Apple AirPods Pro 2. Here we explain what's new about them.

After almost three years, Apple is expanding its AirPods range, or more precisely the Pro series. The earbuds themselves have not changed visually, but the case has. Not only can you now attach a lanyard to it, it also houses a speaker. This is used to produce a sound when you search for the in-ears using the "Find My" app. And for even more flexibility, even smaller earbuds are included with the Apple AirPods Pro 2.

You can also have your Memoji engraved on the case if you want. Definitely a nice gimmick.

Sound and battery improvements

Apple installed the H2 processor in the new AirPods. This provides more computing power, so that higher quality audio signals can be received from another Apple product. Noise cancelling is also said to have been further developed. However, the presentation did not reveal exactly how. Spatial Audio is also back on board.

The battery in the Apple AirPods Pro 2 is supposed to last longer than its predecessor. The battery in the in-ears is supposed to last 6 hours, and the case is supposed to give you 30 more hours of playback. How this will work in everyday life remains to be seen. The headphones can be charged with a cable, the charger for the Apple Watch or with MagSafe.

Pre-orders for the AirPods Pro 2 start on September 9th and they will be available for purchase from September 23rd. The price: 299 euros.
