Apple introduced the AirPower charging mat, which supports Qi wireless charging, over a year ago. Now some are wondering when the gadget will finally be on the market.

At first glance, AirPower looks pretty unspectacular. Just a white mat that happens to support Qi wireless charging and has a lightening port on the back. The gadget isn't that inconspicuous after all. You can wirelessly charge three different or the same Apple devices on it. It doesn't matter how you place them on AirPower. It is even possible (according to some advertising images from Apple) that the battery status of all devices that are on AirPower can be displayed on an iPhone. But for some reason the charging station still does not exist today in 2019, even though the presentation took place over a year ago.

So it is with the charging gadget

There is no official statement from Apple on the state of affairs with regard to AirPower. 9to5Mac suspectedthat there are still some Prothere are problems with development and availability. So it is written that there is still too ProProblems can arise when you want to wirelessly charge several devices at the same time on a mat and that there don't seem to be any AirPods cases with a coil for wireless charging yet. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPower should even appear in the first quarter of 2019. Whether it really comes to that in the end is still in the stars.
