Apple could introduce a new monitor for Macs

Screenshot: TechnikNews

Apple does have the Pro Display XDR in its range, but it is expensive. However, a cheaper monitor is said to be in the works, which has now been confirmed again by journalist Mark Gurman.

Just a glance at the data sheet of the Pro Display XDR should make it clear that this is not a monitor for the average consumer. Apple has equipped the device with a 32-inch 6K screen, among other things, and is therefore clearly aimed at people who are involved in video editing or photo editing, for example. The price is accordingly low: you can't get the product for less than around 5500 euros on the company's homepage. If you want the stand as well, you'll have to pay around 1000 euros on top.

Many therefore want a cheaper screen and based on various rumors one can also assume that one is in development. This has now been confirmed again by the journalist Mark Gurman.

Cheaper Apple monitor in the coming year?

In response to a question in the Q&A section of his newsletter, he writes that he strongly believes that Apple will introduce a product like this. He also assumes that with a few adjustments, it could come onto the market for half the price of the Pro Display XDR. Gurman is often right with his guesses, so there is a chance that this could happen here too.

When this display will be ready for sale is currently unknown. New Macs will probably be presented in the spring, which would be a good opportunity. Otherwise, late autumn would be an option, as new Macs have also been introduced here in recent years.
