Facebook has given its in-house messenger an update. Now you can play 17 classic games with your friends in the chat window in the browser, as well as in the app on Android and iOS. Perfect against boredom.

For a long time, Facebook Messenger users have had the opportunity to play some games such as tic-tac-toe or chess. However, these were not easy to find. After the first test games, Facebook integrated the bots into Messenger that you can ask questions. For example, you can ask the Yahoo bot what the weather will be like today or what the weather will be like over the weekend. New bots are added to the messenger every day.

Now Facebook has published an update with which you can play classic games directly in Messenger with your friends. Facebook calls the whole thing "Instant Games" - the following games are currently available in Messenger:

  • PAC-MAN
  • Galaga
  • ARKANOID
  • SPACE INVADERS
  • TRACK & FIELD 100M
  • Words with Friends: Frenzy
  • Shuffle Cats Mini
  • EverWing
  • Hex
  • Endless lake
  • Templar 2048
  • The Tribez: Puzzle Rush
  • 2020 Connect
  • Puzzle Bobble
  • Zookeeper
  • Brick pop
  • Wordalot Express

Start the game in Facebook Messenger - that's how it works!

Starting a game on Facebook Messenger is not difficult at all. If you want to challenge your friend or other chat partner, for example in a Pac-Man round, you have to tap on the hamburger menu above the text field and then click on "Games". Here you will find an overview of all currently available games - tapping on "Play" starts the game. The chat partner then sees the score achieved in the chat.

All of these games can be played on the computer and in the Messenger app for Android and iOS. More games are to follow in the future.
