Google Nest Wifi presented: All the features and prices of the Wifi system

At yesterday's "Made by Google" event, you showed next to the Pixel 4 and the Nest Mini yet a third Proproduct, the Google Nest Wifi. This comes with some interesting improvements.
Hardware
The new Nest Wifi consists of at least two devices, the Nest Wifi router, which is the "basic structure", so to speak, and the associated access point, which extends the WLAN signal to exactly where the router would no longer be able to reach on its own. According to Google, the new system should be compatible with the old one, which means that you can simply buy the new Nest Wifi if you already own the Google Wifi - the access point is also a Google Assistant loudspeaker at the same time. The new duo should have a transmission speed up to twice as high and up to 25% more range. Nevertheless, “only” WLAN 5 is installed.

The facility and software
This runs again via the Google Home app. With the app you can z. For example, share your WiFi password with guests, prioritize devices (e.g. if you're streaming a movie), test the speed of the network, set up a guest WiFi or change your password. What is new is that the access point is a Google Assistant loudspeaker, with which you can also measure the connection by voice or switch off the WLAN for certain devices. This is ideal for parents if they want to set certain offline times for their child or if they want to switch off the Internet manually. You can also control your smart home devices with it.

Environmentally friendly and prices
Like the Nest Mini, the Nest Wifi system is made from sustainable materials. The router housing is made of 45% recycled plastic and the housing of the access point is 40%. Google Nest Wifi will be available in stores in Germany from December and, as already mentioned, will be compatible with the old Google Wifi. There will be a bundle with the router and an access point which you could buy for 259 €. A single router is over the counter for € 159, and a single access point will cost € 139. In Germany, however, there will only be the color “Snow” (white). You can buy it in the Google Store, at MediaMarkt, Saturn, Gravis, tink and mobilcom-debitel.
