TechnikNews It looks different now: After many years, we've given our blog a completely new design. The site is more modern, clearer, and much easier to use on smartphones. We've also added a dark mode, a new ranking list for our tests, and a dedicated section for our videos. Here's an overview of all the new features.
The basic framework of TechnikNews It was getting old. That's why we redesigned the site from the ground up, without completely turning everything upside down: The familiar TechnikNews The basic layout remains. New features include a consistent font across the entire page, more white space, and clearly defined maps for each article. This makes it easier to find what interests you. The article header has also been redesigned. The title and featured image are now displayed side-by-side, and the image can be enlarged with a single click. Image galleries open with a new, more modern look that also works well on smartphones.
Dark Mode: Finally arrived in 2026
One of the most requested features for IT professionals is finally here: TechnikNews It's now also available in dark mode. By default, the site automatically adjusts to your device's settings. If you prefer to choose manually, you can switch between light, dark, and automatic in the footer or directly in the menu on your smartphone. The site will remember your selection for your next visit.
Almost three-quarters of our readers access our site via smartphone. That's why we've completely redesigned the mobile menu. It now opens in full screen with large entries that are finally easy to use on a smartphone. Subcategories slide in from the side, and a tap on "Back" takes you back up one level. Admittedly, the previous menu was truly awful.
Tests at a glance
Our tests are receiving more attention. At the end of each review – and in many cases right at the beginning – a new summary box summarizes the results: with a rating from 1 to 10 points, sub-scores for areas such as display, camera, and battery, as well as the most important advantages and disadvantages. Particularly successful products also receive a recommendation or a price-performance tip.
We will now collect all reviewed products in the TechnikNews LeaderboardThere you can filter by category, search for products, and immediately see which device performed best in our tests. You can find an example of the new summary box in our [link to relevant section]. Oppo Find X10 review.
More space for our videos
Our YouTube channel regularly features tests and first impressions, most recently focusing on electric cars. We're now bringing these videos to you. proHead straight to the homepage. You can find all videos and shorts collected on our new Video overviewIf a review has a corresponding video, it will appear directly in the article.
Further improvements
In addition to the major innovations, we've made tweaks in many small areas:
- Under each article you will find relevant posts that are thematically appropriate.
- Articles can now be quickly forwarded via WhatsApp, email, or link using a new share bar.
- On the homepage, we display the latest tests with large images in a separate bar.
- Advertising is used to finance this hobby.proUnfortunately, these elements are still necessary, but they have been integrated more cleanly so that they disrupt the reading flow less.
We look forward to your feedback.
