Google Pixel 4: Update for 90Hz display with lower brightness is coming

A few days ago the Google Pixel 4 (XL) officially presented. As with any smartphone, there are a few to start with Probleme - so also with Google. An update that will be released shortly should significantly improve the 90Hz display.

Google is relying on some new functions in the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL and therefore does not yet have that much experience. There is currently a strange rule that the built-in 90Hz display can only be used with a display brightness of over 75%. The "Smooth Display" is then no longer as smooth and the system resets the frame rate back to 60Hz.

Update makes the display of the Google Pixel 4 (XL) more "smooth"

Since the feature was widely advertised, many users were quickly disappointed with the throttling. Well, Google has loud TheVerge announced that an update will be delivered here soon. This should even be included with the next November patch. It has not been announced exactly how the rule will be changed, but it is supposed to get better. One speaks of using the 90Hz display even with lower brightness.

What is not yet to come in November, however, is the setting to deactivate the unlocking of the display with closed eyes. It is currently possible with Google's smartphone to unlock with Face Unlock even with your eyes closed (e.g. while sleeping).
