Huawei Mate 10 launch event announced
The Huawei Mate 9 clearly played in the flagship segment last year. It wasn't a bad smartphone either. Huawei has now distributed invitations for a Huawei Mate 10 launch event. I have summarized more details here in the article.
Various technology blogs reported that Huawei invited them to Munich on October 16. The slogan "Meet the device worth waiting for" is on this invitation. There is also a big 10 in the background. It can be assumed that this is the Huawei Mate 10 launch event. After all, Huawei's CEO suggested several times that their latest device can even compete with the iPhone 8. Who isn't waiting for this smartphone?

You can hear that from current rumors
Display: Here, too, the edges are thinner
Huawei is also said to have decided to follow the trend towards narrower display bezels. That is why the company wants to install a so-called "EntireView" display in its latest flagship. It should be a display in 18: 9 format, which should take up a large part of the front. In the case of the Huawei Mate 10, this should fail with 6 inches and a Full HD resolution. As a result, one could assume that the new Huawei smartphone will be very compact despite the large display.
Battery
Since I could only find information on a "large battery", I assume that it will be about the same size as last year. That means it could have a capacity of around 4000mAh. That would definitely be enough for at least one day of running time. The likelihood is also very high that we will see rapid charging technology.
Specs and Software: As befits 2017
As a ProThe processor in the Huawei Mate 10 is the in-house HiSilicon Kirin 970. This is the successor to the Kirin 960, which was installed in the Huawei Mate 9 last year. In addition, it should be on the same level as a Snapdragon 835. The Kirin 970 should also be supported by 6GB of RAM.
In the meantime, a dual camera, which was developed in cooperation with Leica, could be installed as a camera, which is typical for Huawei. If so, it is very likely that one lens will take black and white images and the other will take the colors, so the software can then combine both images for better results.
The Mate 10 could even be one of the first devices to receive Android O 8.0 ex works. As I now assess Huawei, a new version of the in-house Emotion UI will also be preinstalled with some bloatware. Stock Android would clearly have been nicer and even better for performance.
Special features
During my research, I also got wind of two rather unusual features in a smartphone. Huawei is said to have decided to integrate 3D face recognition. That makes perfect sense, as you can outsmart normal face recognition with a simple 2D photo of the person who owns the smartphone. AR features should also come on board. However, we do not yet know more details. In addition, a previously unknown 3D sensing feature will come with the new Huawei smartphone. Among other things, it should be able to capture rooms. It remains to be seen what can be done with it.
Conclusion
The Huawei Mate 10 will certainly not be a bad smartphone. No question. Nevertheless, as with every Huawei smartphone, there is one more point of criticism. The software. Most manufacturers are now relying on the fast stock Android - but Huawei continues to throw its own EMUI on smartphones. Without this, you could certainly achieve even better results in terms of benchmarks and receive faster updates. Too bad.
Still, it could really become a smartphone that is really worth waiting for. Just like Huawei advertises itself.
