In less than two weeks, Apple will present iOS 15 at WWDC 2021. The rumors about the new OS version are slowly increasing, including the first details about the health app.

If you look in the App Store, you will find many successful apps that help monitor diet. MyFitnessPal is a household name, but FoodNoms from an indie developer also has many enthusiastic customers. If such apps are successful, it can happen that Apple also wants to be active in this area. That could have happened here now too.

In iOS 15, Apple introduced an area for recording food intake in the Health app.

iOS 15: New area in the health app should be similar to MyFitnessPal

At least that's what Connor Jewiss said on Twitter. He states in his tweet that he has already seen this and other parts of the new iOS. Then answered iMore with further details on the new section in the health app. This is actually supposed to work similarly to the MyFitnessPal mentioned above.

So do such apps now have to fear Apple? You can't answer that exactly. On the one hand, the past has shown that it is not a good omen for third-party providers when the Californian company takes such steps. On the other hand, these apps could benefit from the new functionalities profit. Because there is HealthKit-Interface for developers who allow access to the data from Health.

Jewiss also stated in his tweet that he saw a redesigned lock screen. IMore also has a few other designs for this.

The iOS lockscreen should approximate a bit to the face area of the Apple Watch. At least they should also get the so-called “complications”. How this looks exactly is not described further. There are also plans to change a few things in terms of notifications. The grouping should work differently from iOS 15 and it should be possible to set a "mode". Based on this, the operating system should be able to decide how a new message should be delivered.

This year, too, the WWDC will take place exclusively online. The first keynote, where iOS 15 will be unveiled, starts on June 7th at 19 p.m.
