macOS Big Sur: Clues to Face ID for Mac found
Since Face ID came to the iPhone X, the demand for face recognition in the Mac has been high. Now there is evidence of this in macOS Big Sur.
Currently, developers and adventure seekers can opt out of the macOS Big Sur betaprobeers, which will be released sometime in the fall.
When offproquite an interesting piece of code has been found. The found code is said to support a function called "PearlCamera". "Pearl" is also the codename Apple used for Face ID in the iPhone X, so it's entirely possible that we'll see Face ID in a Mac soon. In addition, there are explicit references to facial recognition in the software. The whole thing could well mean that Apple could introduce a Mac with Face ID and Big Sur in the period up to the next WWDC. The code found does not reveal whether this is an iMac, a MacBook Air or even a Mac with Apple silicon.
