Design
We don't have any product images yet, but we can get a rough idea from the information we have. Microsoft talks about an "almost edgeless 13-inch Pixel Sense display" and the "slimmest Surface yet". The design can therefore be easily derived from the old version, as this fits very well with the information about the new device.
The 13-inch display has a resolution of 2.880 x 1.920 pixels and comes with the familiar 3: 2 aspect ratio.
Microsoft will offer the device in two different colors, "black" and "platinum".
Hardware
There will be two new versions of the Microsoft Surface Pro X (2020). One with 256 GB storage and one with 512 GB.
The processor will be the new Microsoft SQ2, based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx (which is an ARM chip). This 8-core processor will run at a maximum clock speed of 3,15 GHz. The graphics unit is the Microsoft SQ2 Adreno 690, but we don't have any exact data on this yet.
The main memory in both versions is a 16 GB LPDDR4X module.
Connectivity and cameras
There will be two USB-C ports, Surface Connect, the port for the Surface Keyboard and a Nano-SIM slot.
WLAN 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS are also available, as well as a microphone and stereo speakers. Microsoft speaks of “dual far-field studio microphones” and “2-watt stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium”. A 10 MP outdoor camera with autofocus and a 5 MP webcam will be used as the camera. The outdoor camera records videos with 4K.
According to Microsoft, one battery charge should last for 13 hours, it is charged with 65W.
