In addition to one 4G variant The Chinese manufacturer also officially presented a 5G variant of the A74, namely the OPPO A74 5G. Contrary to what the name suggests, this is not just an A74 with 5G, but an all-round better equipped smartphone.
The biggest difference concerns the display on the front. While the A74 uses a high-quality OLED panel, the 5G model is unfortunately only equipped with an IPS screen. But this supports at least 90 Hertz. Otherwise there is also the built-in Proprocessor, the loading speed and the camera are slightly different.
OPPO A74 5G: Technical Specifications
The display mentioned above is an IPS panel, which has a pleasantly sharp resolution with FHD + and, as a special feature, supports a fluid refresh rate of up to 90 Hertz. The screen is only interrupted by a small recess in the left corner and the edges around the display are neither noticeably thin nor thick.
The in-house user interface Color OS in version 11.1, based on Android 11, is used as software. Tinkering under the hood as in the cheaper one A54 5G a Snapdragon 480 from Qualcomm supported by 6 GB of RAM. The internal memory is 128 GB and can proeasily doubled via a micro SD card. The battery has a capacity of 5.000 mAh and can be charged sufficiently quickly with up to 18 watts. The 4G variant, however, achieves up to 33 watts. Instead, the 5G model has stereo speakers that are supposed to provide better sound. A jack connection is also on board. The smartphone can be unlocked with a fingerprint sensor, which is located on the side.
The manufacturer installs four cameras on the back, which are housed in a rather conspicuous rectangle at the top left. The main camera has 48 megapixels and the ultra-wide-angle camera can take pictures with 8 megapixels. There are also two additional sensors, each with 2 megapixels, which are responsible for macro shots and depth effects. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels and records videos in FHD + with a maximum of 30 FPS.
