The focus was on the further development of artificial intelligence and the presentation of new products such as the "Bespoke AI Laundry Combo", two "The Premiere" projectors and a limited edition of the "Samsung Music Frame" in collaboration with Universal Pictures.
In its keynote speech, Samsung presented its vision of "AI For All," which shows how AI can make life easier. Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Europe, explained that AI is designed to help simplify users' everyday lives by giving them more time for the important things in life. With the growing integration of AI features into its devices, from smartphones to home appliances, Samsung expects to have around 2024 million AI-enabled Galaxy devices in use by the end of 200.
A central component of this vision is the SmartThings ecosystem, which connects over 500 million devices and enables users to seamlessly control all AI-enabled products. Whether it is managing devices at home or on the go, adjusting the heating or controlling the television - the use of AI should make everyday life easier and at the same time protect the environment. Samsung also used the IFA stage to introduce several new products. These included two new "The Premiere" projectors that offer a home cinema experience in 4K quality. The projectors have AI-powered features such as upscaling to upscale lower quality content to 4K, as well as Vision Booster, which adjusts brightness and contrast for optimal image quality.
Another highlight of the presentation was the limited edition of the “Samsung Music Frame”, which was created in collaboration with the musical “Wicked” by Universal Pictures. The smart speaker in picture frame design comes with technologies such as Dolby Atmos. The limited edition contains special film images and autographs of the characters from “Wicked”.
Energy efficiency thanks to AI
Another focus of Samsung's trade fair appearance was the topic of energy efficiency. The new "Bespoke" refrigerators, for example, are equipped with an AI Inverter Compressor. This reduces energy consumption through precise temperature regulation.
Especially in the area of laundry care, Samsung introduced another solution with the launch of the "Bespoke AI Laundry Combo" in Europe. This combination of washing machine and dryer saves space and offers an energy-efficient washing and drying process in one go. Thanks to the integrated heat pump, clothes are dried gently and efficiently at low temperatures.
AI and energy saving in the SmartThings ecosystem
The SmartThings ecosystem remains a central part of Samsung's efforts to reduce energy consumption. The AI Energy Mode in SmartThings Energy enables savings of up to 70% on certain devices. Features like SmartThings Away Mode allow devices to turn off automatically. This can happen when no one is in the room, further reducing energy consumption.
