For Samsung, IFA is traditionally the clock time. In addition to the Gear Sport the Korean company also has the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear Icon X introduced. This is the new fitness bracelet from Samsung.

Housing
The Gear Fit 2 Pro comes in a similar housing as its predecessor. This means that if you buy it, you get an elongated plastic fitness band, where the watch content is displayed on an AMOLED display with 216 x 432 pixels. There are also navigation buttons on the page. Both buttons were assigned the same as on the Gear Sport. What is new is that you have the option of a black or a black-and-red bracelet. Just like the Gear Sport, the Gear Fit 2 Pro Dive 50 meters deep, even in salt water.
Specs
The fitness bracelet from Samsung is powered by a dual core, just like the Gear Sport Proprocessor driven. Here, too, it is not yet known by which one Processor it is exactly. Again, we get 4GB of internal storage. And here, too, there is the possibility of loading songs from Spotify onto the watch. A battery with 200mAh ensures at least two days of battery life. However, this can of course vary greatly depending on use.
Software
As is typical for Samsung, the Tizen OS is also used here. However, it was adapted here to the size of the screen. The structure is nevertheless similar to that of the Gear Sport. The smartwatch features were therefore also included in the Gear Fit 2 Pro integrated. As for the fitness features of the band, these are congruent with those of the Gear Sport. So you read about them in the previous article.
Conclusion
I think it's cool that Samsung is going the smartwatch way with a fitness bracelet. No other company does that. As a Spotify lover, I also welcome the fact that I save my libraries on tape to run. Only the price is a little too high for me.
Apropos Price: The Gear Fit 2 will be launched together with the Note 8 on September 15 this year. Samsung calls for an RRP of €229.
