Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro is here: The slim fitness tracker?

For Samsung, IFA is traditionally the clock time. In addition to the Gear Sport The Korean company also introduced the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear Icon X. This is the new fitness bracelet from Samsung.

Housing

The Gear Fit 2 Pro comes in a similar case to its predecessor. This means that if you buy it, you get an elongated plastic fitness band, where the watch's content is shown on an AMOLED display with 216 x 432 pixels. There are buttons on the side for navigation. Both buttons have the same functions as the Gear Sport. What's new is that you have the option of a black or a black-red strap. Just like with the Gear Sport, you can dive to a depth of 2 meters with the Gear Fit 50 Pro, even in salt water.

Specs

Like the Gear Sport, the fitness bracelet from Samsung is powered by a dual core processor. It is not yet known which processor it is. Here too, we get 4GB of internal memory. And here, too, it is possible to download songs from Spotify onto the watch. A 200mAh battery ensures at least two days of battery life. However, this can of course vary greatly depending on usage.

Software

As is typical for Samsung, the Tizen OS is used here too. However, it has been adapted to the size of the screen. The structure is nevertheless similar to that of the Gear Sport. The smartwatch features have therefore also been integrated into the Gear Fit 2 Pro. As far as the fitness features of the band are concerned, they are identical to those of the Gear Sport. Conclusion

I think it's cool that Samsung is going the smartwatch way with a fitness bracelet. No other company does that. As a Spotify lover, I also welcome the fact that I save my libraries on tape to run. Only the price is a little too high for me.

Apropos Price: The Gear Fit 2 will be launched together with the Note 8 on September 15 this year. Samsung calls for an RRP of €229.
