Samsung is fed up with it: Leaks should be plugged

Samsung has never covered itself with fame in the leak area. Now the company is taking targeted action against them.

Since and before the Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy Fold, every Samsung device has been leaked in advance. Render, hands-on videos, datasheets and prices. Everything is known in advance and anticipates the unpacked events. This should be over now. So reported the AllAboutSamsung journalist "Max Jambor" this morning on twitterthat Samsung would now prepare DMCA takedowns against blogs and leakers. Said and done. This morning the YouTube videos from the “GizNext” blog were blocked on YouTube, and more followed at the same time.

Samsung leak claim

Samsung is starting to fight against early leaks (screenshot: TechnikNews)

Noticeable about the current leaks: They were posted almost exclusively on Indian blogs and some of them came from nowhere. So the images could come from a central source that sold them to interested blogs. It is not publicly known where this source got the pictures, but this early before a launch they can only come from a network operator or from Samsung directly.

According to the TechnikNews Samsung only wants to take action against the blogs that bought these images from the source and not against all blogs that they then distributed. Leaks have always been a thorn in the side of Samsung, but combating them is very difficult at such a large company. Thousands of people work at Samsung in various countries.

The only company that has gotten away with leaks so far was Apple. The group from Cupertino also had to struggle with leaks last year, now some employees wear police cameras on their bodies (according to a recent Message).
