Sonos Era 100 and Era 300 are coming
Sonos is planning to turn its portfolio upside down with the Sonos Era 100 and Era 300. These could be revealed in the coming months.
Every few years there are major changes in the range of home speaker manufacturer Sonos. This is how you led a few years ago with the Move and the Roam also portable speakers with Bluetooth.
Now the announcement of a new generation of smart speakers is imminent. As part of this, Sonos will introduce the Era 300 and Era 100. While the Era 300 is possibly a high-end model, the Era 100 is said to be in the entry-level segment. In addition to mentions in several reports, references to this can also be found in various documents from accessory suppliers.
Sonos Era 100 and Era 300: New design and focus on Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio
The Era 300 is said to be the top end of Sonos' lineup. The model could get a completely new acoustic design and multiple speakers for Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio. In addition, it is possible that the Era 300 has a USB-C input, Wifi 6 and Bluetooth. What we of these things in the final ProThe product we'll see isn't clear, as Sonos studied and tested these features during development over the summer.
The Sonos Era 100 (and possibly an SL variant without microphones), on the other hand, will possibly replace the current Sonos One. Exact details are not yet available. However, there is a chance that it will be equipped with an upward-firing driver for Dolby Atmos.
A new generation of the Sonos Move is also to come
At the beginning I already mentioned the Move, which is now a good four years old. The manufacturer should provide an update for this in the near future. However, there is no talk of a specific point in time, just like with the two Era loudspeakers – a release is expected “in the coming months”.
