"Less pressure": Instagram no longer wants to display the number of likes
It's not just the (unique) content that counts on Instagram these days. For some, only the number of followers and likes are much more important. So you could soon test a change that should hide the likes of a post.
Instagram wants to focus more on content and less on numbers (in the form of likes). They can still see whether their friends (their own subscriptions) liked someone else's post, but not how many likes the post received in total. The total number of likes for a post can only be seen by the creator of the post. Others only see "likes [some usernames of friends] and others". The creator of the post only sees the likes if he explicitly clicks on this text.
Instagram is not currently testing the change
The experiment is currently not running - no user is currently seeing this approach. Nevertheless, the change is already implemented in the app, even if it is not yet visible. Instagram confirmed this opposite Techcrunch. “We're not testing it yet, but we're constantly looking for ways to reduce the pressure on Instagram.” It is not uncommon for users to delete some of their posts a short time after uploading because they didn't get enough likes.

In the future, Instagram wants to focus less on numbers and more on content. For a few weeks now, you have not seen the story calls after 24 hours. In general, one would like to extend the "functionality" of the stories to the posts - here, too, one cannot like and comment publicly. In addition, you can only see for yourself how many views it has received with stories.
If this change is actually introduced in the future, it will certainly change the way Instagram works and practices drastically. At the moment you can't imagine what an Instagram would be like without likes. Does hiding the number of likes actually have a positive effect? We will see when the change is tested with the first users.
The wrong way. Definitely won't do anything. Anyone who is under pressure to have too few likes has another one anyway Prostated problems.
