WhatsApp: The app can now be unlocked with Touch ID and Face ID

So far it has not been possible to protect access to WhatsApp without a third-party app. Now you can optionally secure the messenger with Touch ID or Face ID.
Today, February 04th, 2019, an update for WhatsApp appeared in the App Store, according to Caschy's blog. With this update, an option appears in the app settings that allows WhatsApp to be protected with Face ID or Touch ID (depending on which iPhone you are using). If you activate the slider “Face ID / Touch ID required”, you can also select the time after which the lock should take effect. It is currently unclear whether such functionality will also find its way into the WhatsApp Android app.
