Withings, known for its healthproproducts, is presenting the ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition and the Cardio Check-Up at IFA 2024. The hybrid smartwatch is intended to impress with its elegance and comprehensive health monitoring. The Cardio Check-Up, on the other hand, is intended to close the gap between specialists and patients in medical care.

The French manufacturer is taking advantage of the attention at the IFA 2024 in Berlin to present two new products. The first expands the ScanWatch range just in time for the Christmas season, and the Cardio Check-Up expands the company's own Withings+ subscription.

Elegant and smart: ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition

The ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition impresses at first glance with its minimalist and timeless design. The 39 mm case, especially for narrower wrists, is available in two versions: titanium silver and a combination of silver and gold. A highlight is the high-quality workmanship, including a grooved bezel and a durable sapphire crystal. The watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters and is equipped with a robust, 5-link bracelet.

In addition, the analogue-style OLED display offers functions such as heart rate measurement and smartphone notifications. The elegant look makes the watch versatile - from business meetings to festive occasions.

Comprehensive health functions

In addition to the attractive design, the ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition offers extensive health functions. With a medically accurate electrocardiogram (ECG), the watch can detect atrial fibrillation. The measurement is taken within 30 seconds by touching the bezel, and the results are immediately available in the app. This function has proven its worth since 2020 - Withings devices are said to have already detected over two million cases of atrial fibrillation.

In addition to the ECG, the watch also offers the option of monitoring temperature fluctuations that could indicate the onset of an illness. Other functions include monitoring blood oxygen levels (SpO2) and analyzing nighttime breathing disorders. For more restful sleep, the watch provides detailed insights into sleep phases and sleep quality. It also promotes increased activity through comprehensive tracking of steps, calories, elevation and training routes. The ScanWatch automatically recognizes over 40 different activities and measures VO2 Max, an important indicator of physical fitness.

Availability and price

The ScanWatch Nova Brilliant Edition will be available in the EU and the USA from the beginning of November 2024. The RRP is 599,95 euros.

Withings is expanding its digital healthcare offering with the new in-app service "Cardio Check-Up". The service is designed to enable users to have their heart health checked by certified cardiologists from the comfort of their own home. In collaboration with them, users receive a detailed analysis of their cardiovascular health within 24 hours. The service will initially only be available in France, Germany and Great Britain.

Have your heart health checked quickly and easily

The Cardio Check-Up is part of the Withings+ subscription, an existing service from the company that focuses on personalized health and wellnessproprograms. Users can transfer their ECG data directly to the app via compatible Withings devices. This data is then evaluated by cardiologists, allowing possible heart diseases such as atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias to be detected at an early stage. Compatible devices include the ScanWatch series smartwatches, the Body Scan connected scale, the Move ECG and BPM Core monitors, and the 4-in-1 MultiScan checkup device BeamO.

Regular check-ups up to four times a year

A particular advantage of the Cardio Check-Up is that it enables regular heart examinations. As part of the Withings+ subscription, users can have their heart checked up to four times pro Have their heart health checked every year. These regular checks not only provide preventive security, but also facilitate rapid intervention in the event of health problems. The new service offers a high level of convenience: the examinations are carried out completely digitally and without an appointment, which means that a visit to the doctor is no longer necessary. All health data is secured in accordance with the highest data protection standards and the results are transmitted within one day.

With the Cardio Check-Up, Withings aims to close a gap in medical care. While ECG checks have so far only been carried out in doctor's offices or clinics, Withings is bringing this option into users' everyday lives. By integrating modern technology and medical expertise, the company is creating easy access to important health information without the patient having to leave the house.

Price and availability

The Cardio Check-Up will be available in France, Germany and the UK in the fourth quarter of 2024. The annual subscription to Withings+ costs 99,95 euros and includes four check-ups pro year. Alternatively, a monthly subscription can be taken out for 9,95 euros, which offers a heart examination every three months. An expansion of the service to the USA is planned at a later date.
