ZTE Axon 20 5G: First smartphone with a camera under the display
ZTE presented its new mid-range smartphone, the ZTE Axon 20 5G, just over a week ago. The special thing about this smartphone is not so much the built-in hardware, but rather the "under-display camera" technology.
ZTE uses a special OLED display to allow enough light to fall on the camera sensor. The area of the front camera has a different pixel structure than the rest of the display. This pixel structure in the area of the front camera is also clearly visible, but ZTE solved this problem much better than Oppo and Vivo did last year. This makes it the first smartphone to come to the mass market with this technology. ZTE is not the first manufacturer to use this technology, because, as already mentioned, there were some prototypes from Oppo and Vivo at the end of last year that already used this technology. But they were only prototypes that never made it to the mass market.
Specs
The rest of the smartphone is then rather unspectacular, but completely solid.
ZTE installed a 6,92-inch OLED panel in a 20,5: 9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels. ZTE does not follow the current trend of edge displays and instead relies on a flat display that also includes a fingerprint sensor. The battery is a total of 4220mAh and can be recharged with up to 30W via Quick Charge. 30W is completely sufficient, but the battery could be a bit bigger with such a large display (6,92 inches).
The ZTE Axon 20 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, so 5G is also possible.
ZTE Axon 20 5G: price, availability and colors
