On the ACCENTUM Wireless The Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus followed at CES 2024. You can read in this review what they do better compared to the cheaper headphones.

The Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus builds on the promise of the ACCENTUM Wireless. So they are also cheap over-ear headphones with a stylish design, excellent battery life and relatively good sound. The Plus model also comes with a transport bag and has touch surfaces instead of buttons for control.

The only criticism I could find is the ANC. In my opinion, this could be a little stronger.

Unboxing and initial setup

The ACCENTUM Plus arrive at the buyer in typical Sennheiser packaging. Inside is the transport bag for the headphones, which in turn contains the headphones, the AUX cable, the charging cable and quick instructions. The charging cable is again a USB-C to A cable, which I have to complain about since more and more households can only find power supplies with USB-C.

To set it up, turn on the headphones by long pressing the power button. They should then immediately appear in a device's settings. Alternatively, Sennheiser's Smart Control app offers guided setupprocess.

Design, workmanship and comfort

The basic look of the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus is the same as the ACCENTUM Wireless. The only difference is that the Plus version has touch surfaces for control, not buttons. In my opinion, this is much better because you don't have to first feel the positions of the buttons and then memorize them. The over-ears are available in black and beige.

The conclusion regarding the design, wearing comfort and workmanship is similar to that of the ACCENTUM Wireless. The wearing comfort is again great thanks to the light weight and the good padding. The workmanship is even a little better compared to the ACCENTUM Wireless, as the hinges seem a little more stable. The ACCENTUM Plus also have wearing detection - the music pauses automatically when you take it off your head.

Another reason for the Plus model is the transport case included in delivery. This is made of fabric, with the base and lid being slightly harder than the sides. Sennheiser loops integrated into the case for the charging cable and the AUX cable. I don't understand why it was necessary to sew in a holder for the quick instructions, because once I read them through, I don't really want to have them with me all the time.

Battery life

The battery life is again stated at 50 hours and is therefore very long. Sennheiser tested this with an iPhone, noise cancellation activated and the volume at half volume. In the test I was able to roughly achieve the value again, although to be honest I stopped counting the hours at some point because the things always ran for so long. And even with a low battery level, you can still use the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus for a long time.

They should be fully charged again in three and a half hours, which I can agree with. After a charging time of just 10 minutes, the headphones can be used again for five hours.

sound quality

The ACCENTUM Plus each have a 37 millimeter driver pro Page and support the codecs SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX adaptive, mSBC and CVSD. For communication with a playback device, Bluetooth 5.2 is on board with support for multiple simultaneous connections. Switching between connections worked very reliably review.

The sound is just as good as in the ACCENTUM Wireless. So it could have a little more punch, but is well balanced and detailed. What is noticeable, however, is that the sound seems more natural than with the ACCENTUM Wireless.

Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus connection

The ACCENTUM Plus can also do active noise canceling and do so quite reliably. However, when vacuuming or on a plane, you hear a little more of your surroundings than you might like.

Smartphone connection

The Smart Control app is once again available for making settings and firmware updates. This is free via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Since the range of functions has not changed since the last test, I will not go into detail here.

Prices and availability

The RRP of the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus is 229 euros. They are available for purchase here:
