In addition to their vacuum cleaners and hair careproducts, Dyson is also known for its air purifiers. In the last 6 months I have tested the air purifier flagship, the Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool.

The scope of delivery of the Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool includes not only the air purifier itself, but also a water tank, the remote control, as well as the HEPA and activated carbon filters and a power supply unit.

Construction

The construction of the air purifier was very simple, as there were stickers with inscriptions everywhere. First, the water tank is filled with water and pushed into the device. In the next step, the filters are clicked into the device as described. Finally you can remove all stickers. The remote control is held magnetically on the top of the device, which I really like because you always have it to hand.

Dyson Link app

After the owner has set up the device, he can download the Dyson Link app, which is available for both Android and iOS, to connect the air purifier to the WLAN. The setup of the air purifier is described very precisely and works relatively quickly. There is a lot of information on the app's home screen, such as the air quality data, the air quality of the place of residence, as well as buttons for controlling the device. If you want to control all functions of the device, there is also a full remote control that can be accessed via the small remote control icon. In addition to controlling the air purifier from anywhere in the world, the app also allows the use of Google Home, Alexa or Siri Shortcuts. It is also possible to check the condition of the filter and be notified when it is necessary to purchase a new filter.

Workmanship and design

The Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool is very well made, which is to be expected given the high price. The design of the air purifier is very modern and futuristic, which I really like. There is a display on the front of the device that shows the current air quality, which is measured with sensors located on the back. The water tank has a capacity of 5 liters and can be pushed into the bottom of the device. There are also 2 buttons above the display to switch the air purifier on and off and a button for the deep cleaning mode, which is used to clean the water filter. Dyson has paid attention to many small details when designing the device, such as the wheels and the carrying handle on the water tank or the magnetic holder for the remote control on the top of the device, which I find very good.

remote control and operation

The magnetic remote control is very well made and has buttons to control all the functions of the air purifier. It offers a button to turn the air purifier on and off, as well as buttons to control 10 airflow levels, levels and buttons to control air humidification. There is also a button to toggle the air quality information on the display, a button to blow the airflow backwards, and a button for night mode and the sleep timer. As already mentioned, the remote control is held magnetically on the top of the air purifier. All buttons on the remote control can also be found in the Dyson Link app.

Funktionalität

The air purifier filters and humidifies the air in 10 air flow levels or in automatic mode, which works with air quality measurements. The air is cleaned through a HEPA 13 filter and an activated carbon filter and then humidified. The filter filters 99,95% of bacteria, pollutants, gases and pollen from the air. The latter is very useful for allergy sufferers. The water is cleaned with blue light and silver threads before it is used to humidify the air. In reality, the whole thing works very well and reliably.

The air purifier is comparatively very quiet, which means that it can always run in the background in automatic mode without being disturbing. In night mode, the air purifier dims its display and switches to the 4th airflow level, in which it is barely audible. The air is either blown backwards or it is blown forwards by the Dyson "air multiplier technology" through 2 rotating rods. In summer, the air purifier can also replace a fan, as this has enough power to generate a cooling air flow.

Conclusion

The Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool PH03 is a high-end air purifier with many features and a fabulous cleaning performance. You can get one of the best air purifiers here, but the price is very high. I am allergic myself and am happy to own the air purifier, because you notice a clear difference whether it has cleaned the air or not. In summer, the fan function with the "air multiplier technology" is a very good feature. I am very with that Prosatisfied and would buy it again.

Availability and price

The Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool is now available in 3 different versions. In addition to the PH03 model, there is also a PH3A and a PH04. The PH03 is the version that was tested here. The PH04 is the successor to the PH03 and offers an additional formaldehyde filter, but otherwise differs only slightly from the PH03. The PH03A is identical to the PH3, but it does not offer the option of controlling the air purifier via the Dyson app.

The Dyson PH03 is only available to a limited extent and costs 699 euros. The PH04 and PH3A versions are available everywhere and cost 799 euros and 699 euros respectively.
