iOS 10: Bug in the control center causes iPhone to crash
A bug in the control center under iOS 10 makes it possible to freeze the iPhone very easily. In most cases it will even restart. But: don't worry, this bug has to be deliberately carried out.
It should be loud for a user 9to5Mac succeeded in putting the iPhone out of action for a short time with a simple trick. This trick emerges from a bug in the control center under iOS 10, which should affect almost all iOS 10 versions. But there is no need to panic - you cannot trigger this crash by accident.
Crashed iPhone by simple trick
In order to take advantage of this bug in a targeted manner, only 3 fingers are required on the display at the same time. First you have to call up the control center with a swipe upwards. Then you have to select the flashlight from the bottom row with one finger. The second finger taps on NightShift at this moment and at the same time you have to tap the AirDrop symbol above with the third finger.
If you have selected all symbols with all three fingers at the same time, the iPhone should freeze. No more entries are possible now. In most cases, the device will restart automatically within a few seconds. Depending on the device and version, nothing can happen here either. It is also possible that the iPhone reacts to inputs again in a short time without restarting. You can even find a video about this trick on YouTube, which should illustrate how it works:
This bug is said to have still worked in the latest beta version for iOS. It remains to be seen until Apple is ready with an update. However, this error is not that critical as it really has to be done on purpose. This bug should therefore not really be a problem in everyday life.
