GTA V is currently available for free in the Epic Games Store. Interested parties can pick up the game free of charge until May 21st. At the moment there is such a rush that the Epic Games Store is temporarily unavailable.

Who would have thought: every week there is a free game in the Epic Games Store. This time it's the classic GTA V, which is now getting on in years. Rockstar Games' GTA V celebrates its seventh birthday in September. It all started back then on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While the game normally costs around 15 euros, it is now free until May 21st.

GTA V for free: How to get the game

Load the Epic Games Launcher and then log in. Then switch to "Store" in the left sidebar and scroll down to the free games - GTA V should now appear there in a large size. Now click on the game and confirm the age warning (GTA V is from 18 years). Then you scroll down again and click on "Get". Then a purchase process appears, where of course you do not have to pay anything - "0 euros" should appear here. Then click on Buy and the game is yours - you will find it in the "Library" on the left.

But you should be quick, because GTA V is still free until May 21 at 17:00 p.m. Then the offer expires. However, giving away GTA V could indicate that the successor GTA 6 is just around the corner - there has been speculation about this for a long time.
