NVIDIA Brings New GeForce RTX Super Graphics Cards: Really Great?
NVIDIA surprises us on July 4.7th. with the release of the RTX Super graphics cards. They get the abbreviation: "super" and should be the counterpart of the GTX-Ti (predecessor), an improved RTX variant. But are they really that great?
The RTX Super cards get some improvements in the area of CUDA cores and memory speed. But that's not all, they should be available at the same price as the not "super" cards. Of course, this will also cause the price of the predecessors to rattle down. According to Nvidia, the improvements should bring the super cards up to 25% more performance. Furthermore, NVIDIA stops the Production of the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 cards and loudly fills this gap with the newly released Super cards LTT .
In short: they are really great.
For everyone who has been waiting for a GPU upgrade or even wanted to start a PC build, says Nvidia: "It is time to upgrade and secure SUPER powers."
I can only agree with this statement, because more performance for less money sounds very good to the consumer. This also means that ray tracing will be cheaper. One can only hope that this is also an announcement to game developers to promote the technology more and incorporate it into more games.
Why now and why the price drop?
The reason for this is AMD.
AMD published on 7.7. on the E3 the RX5700 serieswhich the RTX2060 and RTX2070 should compete with. The whole thing with more performance and with a smaller hole in the wallet. Since Nvidia is lowering the prices of the "not super cards", these fall into a different price range and so the RX5700 series has to grapple with the RTX super cards.
The RX 5700 series just beats the cards from Nvidia listed above, but cannot compete with the RTX Super series. Victory of the fight goes to Nvidia, but the battle is certainly not over. I recommend this to anyone who wants to see more information and performance information on the RTX Super cards LTT's video to watch.
