It has been a long time since Google launched the last Chromecast has presented. Now there is a new model with remote control.

The Chromecast has always managed without a remote control. Instead, the dongle is controlled with a smartphone, tablet or PC. Now leaks are circulating on the Internet showing a redesigned Chromecast with a remote control.

The device itself is no longer round and appears in three different colors on the picture. Black, white and beige. What is still known from the predecessor on the graphic is the compact Google logo in the middle. The remote control comes in white and has a rather rounded shape. It has a D-Pad and a back and home button for navigation. You can also see buttons for the Google Assistant, pausing playback and muting the sound. A star button can also be seen, but I can't tell what it's good for.

It seems like Android TV is going to be used on the new Chromecast, which would make sense with the remote too. This in turn also means that you could download apps from the Play Store onto the device. But I strongly assume that the leaked streaming gadget will come with the cast functionality as we know it from current models. A possible launch date is not clear from the leak, but Google would probably opt for an announcement via press release.
