Action Launcher is the app that I use when I want to spice up my home screen again. The developer has now updated the launcher to version 40.

Let's start with the basics: Chris Lacy, the developer of Action Launcher, redesigned the icon. This now looks a lot more modern and colorful and should represent the properties of the app: colorful, customizable and simple.

New search features and definition of the search engine

In version 40, the focus is heavily on searching for things. The “Action Web Search” and “Action Search” functions are now available for this purpose. The latter feature is a kind of universal search. In addition to apps, it finds contacts, things on the Internet, in-app search history and even settings in the app and system settings. Action Web Search works in a similar way to the Google search bar. You can use this to search for websites, news, pictures and videos. A search engine of choice can also be specified for “Action Web Search”. In addition to these three big changes, Action Launcher 40 also includes some bug fixes. Action Launcher is available for free from the Google Play Store. Premium costs around four euros.
