It is not new that Apple cares about user privacy. Now there have been further announcements at WWDC 2021.

Tracking pixels are not unknown, especially in newsletters. Now these can be deactivated. In addition, the tracking of the IP address can be switched off.

Safari got similar new functions. Here the tracking can be turned off across websites. And the “App Privacy Report” lists all the things that apps are doing in the background and that you might want to know about.

Siri requests are now completely processed on the device. So now no more requests have to be sent to any server. This is particularly helpful for local operations.

iCloud updates

Then you came to iCloud. It started with "Account Recovery". Users can now add contacts who can help you if you forget the password for your Apple ID. The "Legacy Contacts" are also new. They get access to your account should you die.

The highlight, however, is iCloud +. Part of it is "Private Relay", which encrypts your Internet traffic even further. “Hide my Email” is another feature from this package. This can generate you random email addresses for online accounts so that your actual address remains private. Last but not least, “HomeKit Secure Video” is included. With iCloud + you can save more devices than before. You get the whole thing at no extra charge.
