UPDATE: This date will instantly break your iPhone

Since iOS 8 there is a bug that makes the iPhone or iPad unusable. A specific date must be set in the settings. We'll go over the whole thing once.

Like some tech blogs, such as 9to5Mac, and users are now reporting, there is said to be a serious bug in iOS that directly makes the iPhone unusable. More precisely, this is an error that should have something to do with a specific date. If you now set the date of your iPhone to January 1, 1970 in the settings and then restart it, it will get stuck in the startup process. Maybe, if you are lucky, the iPhone could start up again after about 5 hours. Changing the SIM card should also have helped some users.

Which iPhones are exactly affected?

All Apple smartphones since the iPhone 5S with iOS 8 are affected, or all Apple smartphones that have a 64-bitProuse processor with iOS 8. If the user does not manually set the date to this specific day, nothing can happen. Setting this date shouldn't happen unintentionally either, since you have to scroll a long way in the list to reach January 1, 1970. That's why it's strongly discouraged to try this on your own iPhone or a friend's iPhone "for fun".probeer But if you still want to know what happens afterwards, you should take a closer look at the video below. Apple does not yet have a fix for this bug.

Have you already had experience with this bug? What helped you get your iPhone working again? Write it in the comments!

Update, December 15.02.16, XNUMX:

Now Apple has responded and one Help page created. There is no direct solution, but it should soon be possible with a software update Proproblem to be fixed. Currently Apple support for this Probe contacted to resolve the bug. There is still an exact date for the release of the update not. But you also have to keep in mind that you don't get a new iPhone, since a software solution for that Proproblem is in progress. Should there be any further news, we will of course continue to report about it!

I found a hardware solution by chance:
I tried to smash the unusable iPhone on the splitting block with the ax and just missed it. It fell on the floor and lo and behold ... it ran again. The date was set to automatic and the spit was ready ...
