Fitbit app with a new design on the go
Already in March for the presentation of the Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR it has been announced that the app will be renewed. The goal was to roll out the app for all users by the end of 2019. Now it looks like the first users will receive the update on their smartphones.
Some users are already reporting on Twitter and across the street AndroidPolicethat the app appears in a new guise on your smartphone. The new app is intended to simplify operation and, in particular, to make the dashboard (the first page in the app) clearer. Also, two tabs have been dropped below and are now generally renamed. In the middle is the dashboard, which is now called "Today", on the left there is now the "Discover" area and on the right there is the "Community" tab.
Fitbit app brings new dashboard
The dashboard has also changed significantly. There are no more tiles, but the data is now displayed one below the other. The most important thing is to highlight the steps at the top, next to calories, active minutes and distance walked. These points can still be edited and replaced by the number of floors, for example. As usual, you will find the sleep, heart and other data below this. The order of these can also be changed.
In case you're wondering where the notifications tab went, it's in the "Today" tab under the inbox icon in the top-right corner. Otherwise, the redesign isn't really a huge leap forward. Rather, it looks like an attempt to become more modern and make the tracker more interesting. However, Fitbit should also be interested in providing updates for the trackers and the BluetoothProto get problems under control.
To activate the new design, you can update the Fitbit app and then wait. There is also no point in downloading the latest version of the app elsewhere. The new design is activated on the server side for more and more users. The new design should come for everyone by the end of 2019. If you get the update, you can not undo and use the old design.
Xiaomi will soon overtake Fitbit anyway.
