The latest smartphones from Huawei are currently the Huawei P9 and P9 Lite. Since April 2016, they have been delivered more than 10 million times. No Huawei smartphone has been as successful as the P9.

How yourself GSMArena reported, Richard Yu, the CEO of the Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG), has announced that he has broken the 10 million mark in sales of the P9. The 9 million mark was only exceeded in early November, six months after the release.

30 million smartphones shipped in the third quarter

As Yu mentions in the report, Huawei sold 33,59 million smartphones in the third quarter, up 2015 percent from the third quarter of 23. These figures correspond to a 44 percent market share in the mid- to high-end segment. In addition, he emphasizes that it was important to enter into a partnership with Leica and develop the P9's camera together with the German company. This sets a new standard for modern camera technology and delivers excellent user experiences, says Yu.

As announced at IFA 2016, Huawei wants to become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world by 2018. We are looking forward to the coming year.
